Italgen

Formally established in 2001, but with an industrial history dating back to the early 20th century, Italgen is an Italian company active in the production and transmission of energy from 100% renewable sources. The Company has over 100 MW of installed capacity and an annual output of approximately 370 GWh. Italgen holds 32 hydroelectric water-use concessions, 9 photovoltaic plants, and operates a private grid of around 300 km of power lines. The energy generated, equivalent to the consumption of approximately 133,000 average households, is partly sold through long-term Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) to a selected group of industrial clients in Italy, and for the remainder on the wholesale market and the Italian Power Exchange.
