Finter Bank Zürich was established in 1958 and in 1967 was acquired by Italmobiliare, which became the sole owner of the bank. With offices in Zurich, Lugano and Chiasso, it provided private banking services.
In 2015, Italmobiliare sold its Finter Bank Zurich unit to Swiss bank Vontobel. The acquisition was a move allowing Vontobel to strengthen its business with Italian clients, while at the same time underscoring its commitment to its Swiss home market. Italmobiliare received part of the purchase price in Vontobel shares thus supporting the Swiss Group’s expansion into the Italian market as part of a long-term commitment.
